In January of 1993 on a little somethin' known as BBS echo that
was on fido started and was named STDSN. It was a place of merryment and
happiness, that lasted up to the Newbari Wars in late 1993 or 1994. Then for
some reason the jollies weren't so jolly, and the tension ran high when some
of the people from STDSN broke off and we renamed STDSN, TEWSNBN (The Echo
Which Shall Not Be Named). A lot of the 'old timers' in the STDSN echo were
rollicking, fun folks...David, Gail, Dex, MaryD, Tammy Potash...all the
old-time Norians...they wrote filk, silliness..typical 'Terok Nor' type things.
Over the course of several months there were a lot of 'hard core' Star Trek
and 'technical Trek' people who joined the STDSN echo..and started
complaining about the 'silliness' and such in a 'serious' Trek-oriented echo.
Then..apparently the moderator of the STDSN echo started 'banning' people for
'non-serious' postings...turning it into a non-fun place to be. So, Tammy
Potash and Dex started 'THF'
Then in 1998 we moved from an almost non-existent Fido to an
internet e-mail based mailing list. On Thu, 27 Aug 1998 at 09:04:48pst the
first e-mail of TerokNor was sent. Now the fun, laughter, silliness, and
fliking are back with a vengence, even though we've lost some of our orignals
(Tammy, MaryD, Dex, and Gail) we've gained many more and more continue to
come.
